CleanFleet Employee Gives Back Dressing Up as Boba Fett

IMG_53303On February 26th, 2016, one of our CleanFleet employees participated in the March to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital by dressing up as a Boba Fett with the Cloud City Garrison 501st Legion, helping to bring joy to the children, staff, and guests at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

This was a community service project organized by Justin Newman as a way to give back to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Justin spent a week at the hospital when he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, on July 18, 2005. He continues to go to OHSU and Doernbecher’s for routine diabetes care and wanted to give back to the community.

While at the hospital, they gave children toys, took photos with them and entertained them with costumed and robot characters thanks to Cloud City Garrison.

“Sooooooo COOL, Justin! Truly, what a magical experience for those kids! Thank-you for what you all did!!!!”

Cloud City Garrison is a chapter of The 501st Legion of Stormtroopers, a famous movie franchise Imperial costuming club. Cloud City Garrison is committed to Oregon and SW Washington communities, offering support at charity events, fund raisers, and social functions by appearing as film-authentic characters.

While there is no cost to engage in their services, they encourage donations to charity on their behalf instead to: Make-A-Wish Oregon, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Special Olympics, The Salvation Army’s Bell Ringing program, Toys for Tots, or Children’s Miracle Network.
