Collection Method Techniques

Comparing three types of collection method techniques for your drug testing program.

At CleanFleet we want you to choose the collection method that makes sense with your business needs. Below we provided a brief comparison of different drug testing collection methods so that it will be easier for you to choose.

Several techniques have been developed in the last few decades to trace the ever increasing drug abuse. Among these different drug testing techniques, three collection methods have been accepted widely in the drug testing industry. These collection method techniques are Urine Drug Testing, Oral Fluid (Saliva) Drug Testing, and Hair Drug Testing.

Drug Testing Basics

A drug test is a technical analysis of a biological specimen, for example urine, hair, oral fluid (saliva), etc, in order to determine the presence or absence of specified parent drugs or their metabolites.

All drugs, pharmaceutical and otherwise, undergo a series of bio-chemical reactions in the body. These reactions release the active compound and then gradually degrade the drug into slightly different structures. These structures, also called metabolites, are then excreted from the body in a variety of ways. Urine is the main excretory route for drugs and their metabolites.
